NAB's workplace transformation created Australia's most ambitious corporate catering opportunity. Consolidating 12,000 staff from six buildings into two Melbourne towers demanded a complete reimagining of how hospitality can drive collaboration, enhance reputation, and support the bank's vision as the country's leading business institution.

NAB is committed to service excellence—bringing people together through hospitality that positively impacts colleagues, customers, the environment, and the wider community. With a focus on leadership in innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility, the new catering model embedded best practice to deliver tangible outcomes, actively contributing to and reinforcing NAB’s environmental commitments.

Maytrix led the strategic procurement of catering services. The scale was significant: hospitality operations were redefined to service 11,100 staff over 63,000 square metres across two office buildings and 46 levels.

The $600 million new corporate build at 395 Bourke Street set a new standard for service excellence in hospitality delivery. NAB required more than food service; it needed an integrated hospitality solution to enhance workplace experience and drive engagement post-pandemic. The transformation extended collaboration zones and cafés into workplace hubs, shifting hospitality from traditional cafés and public areas to corporate and event spaces. This strategic realignment created a more dynamic and engaging workplace environment.

For NAB employees, 395 is a destination workplace, creating a sense of belonging and connection to the city.

Maytrix unpacked operational models, aligned service standards, and diversified offerings to support NAB’s flexible workplace. This approach ensured consistent quality and seamless service, responsive to hybrid work patterns and changing demands.

The tender addressed complex multi-stream operations by integrating flexibility, technology, coordinated logistics, and strict compliance. Sustainability was prioritised throughout, with waste reduction, ethical sourcing, and energy-efficient systems reinforcing NAB’s environmental commitments.

NAB’s corporate catering contract repositioned food and beverage operations as a strategic business enabler. This strategic realignment supports staff retention, client engagement, and NAB’s standing as both an employer and a bank of choice.
