The revitalisation of Moorabbin Reserve as RSEA Park marks the celebrated return of the St Kilda Football Club to its historic heartland, delivering a landmark community precinct that unites elite performance with public participation. A partnership between the Club, state and local governments, the AFL, and affiliated sporting associations, this $31 million redevelopment transforms the Reserve into a premier hub for sport, health, and community wellbeing.

More than a stadium upgrade, the major redevelopment was guided by a precinct strategy integrating elite AFL training and administration, and inclusive community facilities. Early engagement enabled insights from consultation and benchmarking to shape the planning, design and procurement of hospitality facilities for the precinct, effectively meeting the needs of the Club and wider community through the precinct transformation.

Balancing commercial yield with St Kilda Football Club’s vision for access, inclusion and precinct-wide activation, Maytrix delivered the design brief and operations framework for the elite training and community sports precinct. Supporting project delivery, Maytrix facilitated the mobilisation of Club and Member hospitality facilities; and managed and delivered the procurement of outsourced catering operations across the precinct.

RSEA Park delivers elite facilities with public benefit: a 1000-seat grandstand, training and playing grounds, flexible indoor courts, landscaped piazza spaces and informal social areas engaging all-day community use, and the Danny Frawley Centre for Health and Wellbeing. RSEA Park’s hospitality footprint includes Club and player facilities, function and meeting rooms; the Moorabbin Social Bar and café open daily for community engagement; and the oval precinct including kiosk, in-ground concessions and infrastructure enabled for at-scale civic events.

Home ground for St Kilda FC’s AFL and AFLW teams, community clubs and programs, the Elite and Community Sport precinct is funded through partnership between the Club, State and Federal Governments, Council, the AFL, and local football leagues.

Designed to unify elite sport, health and community, St Kilda Football Club's historic return to its spiritual home has  re-established a connected, high-performance precinct for long-term club and community benefit. Our approach to scoping, planning and delivery of food and beverage operations for the development of Moorabbin Reserve was informed by expertise in commercial strategy, design and procurement for stadia, major and community sporting venues and precincts over 30 years.

The $31M Moorabbin Reserve redevelopment renews RSEA Park as a premier AFL, VFL & community precinct. Maytrix delivered a comprehensive F&B strategy, embedding wellbeing, strengthening community use and operational sustainability.
