Science Gallery Melbourne
At the gateway to Melbourne Connect, the University of Melbourne’s innovation precinct, the $110 million Science Gallery Melbourne features over 3,500 sqm of immersive exhibition and learning spaces. Cultivates STEM engagement through creating a dynamic innovation ecosystem designed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange. that supports both cultural and commercial programming, it activates the university precinct.
Supporting the University’s broader innovation ecosystem, Science Gallery Melbourne bridges scientific research and public engagement, offering contemporary STEM education through interdisciplinary programs and creating pathways for young people into STEM careers and higher education.
Maytrix informed planning and delivered design documentation and procurement for the cafés, as well as multiple meeting, event, and function spaces across Science Gallery Melbourne and the Melbourne Connect Innovation Precinct. These spaces were designed for flexibility in both scale and operational model, enabling commercial operations to evolve alongside the gallery and precinct. Hospitality was embedded from the outset to activate the precinct, encourage collaboration, and deliver sustainable outcomes.

Springvale Library Community Hub Redevelopment
A civic hub integrates library, council, cultural and hospitality services in one of Australia’s most diverse suburbs. Co-delivered the Business and Operations Plan to launch this multi-faceted community hub in the heart of a culturally rich population. The plan synchronises programming, retail and event functions, supporting efficient staffing, seamless service and vibrant cultural activation.
Gladstone East Shores Precinct & Maritime Museum Development
Maytrix Consulting was engaged to scope key facilities and public programs, and to develop the design and business plan supporting the revitalisation of the East Shores Precinct.
The $42 million transformation reactivated Gladstone’s former industrial waterfront into a vibrant, accessible public space. Integrated planning delivered a café, flexible public realm, and a Maritime Museum celebrating the region’s rich heritage—enhancing community pride, cultural identity, and economic outcomes. The precinct has repositioned Gladstone as a key tourism and lifestyle destination for Central Queensland.

HOTA Commercial Development Strategy

Maytrix delivered the comprehensive HOTA Commercialisation Strategy, defining strategic, cultural, and commercial priorities for the precinct’s staged development. This strategy underpinned the realisation of the $60.5M HOTA Gallery and set the framework for integrating creative industries, event capacity, and hospitality. The HOTA precinct redefines the Gold Coast’s cultural landscape, transforming former civic offices into a leading arts and lifestyle destination. Maytrix delivered the comprehensive HOTA Commercialisation Strategy, early planning and scoping for the $60.5 million HOTA Gallery for retail, dining, bar, function and events integration.
HOTA Gallery rises as a defining element of the Gold Coast’s cultural precinct – HOTA, Home of the Arts. Its is the third realised stage of HOTA and is home to the City of Gold Coast’s extensive collection of art and cultural artefacts.
HOTA advances regional identity, economic development, and cultural engagement, positioning the Gold Coast as a leader in Australia’s cultural economy.

WAMA - National Centre for Environmental Art Development
A $12M cultural investment on 16 hectares at Gariwerd integrates art, nature and sustainability. Delivered the hospitality strategy, operational plan, FF&E schedule and costed fit out, embedding local sourcing and flexible use. The framework launches WAMA as a National Centre for Environmental Art and a benchmark for cultural tourism and environmental engagement.

Dandenong New Art is a transformative cultural initiative and a cornerstone of Greater Dandenong’s multicultural arts ecosystem. Located in the heart of Australia’s most culturally diverse community, DNA operates as a dynamic gallery and creative hub. Maytrix delivered a robust business and operations plan and governance framework, integrating commercial activity with program strategy to ensure sustainable operations. The $12 million development features café and retail opportunities, community, creative and workshop spaces, and public art. DNA strengthens the cultural precinct by building participation and establishing Dandenong’s profile as a destination for contemporary art and creative engagement.
Rippon Lea Estate Commercial Strategy
Rippon Lea Estate balances heritage with enhanced visitor services. Developed the food and beverage strategy and led procurement planning to activate gardens, mansion and event spaces. The strategy protects heritage value while enabling sustainable operations and improved visitor experiences in this cultural destination.

Hyphen Gallery Library Redevelopment
Maytrix delivered a comprehensive Commercial and Operations Plan to guide the relaunch of the $12.7M Hyphen Wodonga Gallery Library. This supported the creation of a dynamic, accessible arts and cultural precinct in Wodonga. The strategy integrated gallery and library functions, improved operational and cost efficiencies, and identified new revenue streams and funding opportunities. Maytrix established a sustainable operating framework and future-proofed the model for growth and community engagement. State Library Victoria Business Case
State Library Victoria Business Case - Maytrix Consulting Group
The $88.1 million State Library Victoria Vision 2020 Redevelopment repositions Australia’s busiest library as a leading civic, educational and cultural institution. Maytrix shaped the commercial framework and design brief for hospitality and commercial operations for the business case. The redevelopment unites 23 buildings across a city block, expanding public space by 40% and seating by 70%, and establishing new circulation routes to anchor visitor experience and secure the Library’s role as a contemporary platform for learning, culture and innovation. Restoration of Ian Potter Queen’s Hall is the centrepiece of the project. Leveraging retail and hospitality to support long-term sustainability, the business case balanced access, diversified programming and commercial activities to secure funding and position State Library Victoria as a world-class institution, integrating heritage with modern functionality for future generations.
